It all started wit Honda’s gift to automotive world, Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control better known as VTEC. In its original form the “wild” cam was sometin nv experienced on our roads much less in an everyday car. Take NA 4-cylinder bloack rev the hell out of it n you get wat EG & EK Civics were like in their heyday.
Redlining in anyone of them was done wit ease. The B-series which starts wit the B16a right up to the monstrous B20s & B22s were immensely popular wit tuning crowd. U could extract 200 ponies from them easily & still maintaining tat level of reliability tat no forced induced engine could. Another plus point of the Civics were their compatibility wit other cars in the Honda line-up. U could swap a DC2’s B18 witout much fuss, & u can rip out a Prelude’s brake rotors to fit onto the Civic’s jus some of the tinkering u can do wit the Civics of yore.
To be contine...
